Under the directive and mandates of the New Zealand Government, Heliworks Queenstown is considered a ‘close contact’ business. This means that all passengers will need a My Vaccine Pass to travel with us.
We will continue to deep clean all of our helicopters, customer and staff vehicles and check-in areas daily. Hand sanitiser is available for all passengers at our check-in area and in our vehicles and helicopters.
If you are feeling unwell or displaying flu-like symptoms, please cancel or reschedule your flight.
Do you have a COVID-19 Policy?
Yes, in line with New Zealand’s COVID-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System), we have a COVID-19 Policy in place. Under this policy, using Vaccine Certificates, we will remain open across all Traffic Light System settings.
Do I need to be vaccinated to travel?
Yes, from December 3 2021 all passengers over the age of 12 years 3 months old will need to be vaccinated to travel with us.
A My Vaccine Pass will be required for all passengers. We will verify each customer’s My Vaccine Pass using NZ Pass Verifier App when you check-in.
Passengers joining the helicopter from remote areas where mobile phones may not be available are required to carry a hard copy of their My Vaccine Pass and this will be scanned by the pilot on pick-up.
We cannot accept a purple vaccination card or vaccination confirmation letter as proof of vaccination status.
Can I travel if I am unvaccinated?
Due to the inability to keep a 1-metre distance in between passengers in helicopters, we will not be able to fly unvaccinated customers across all levels of the Traffic Light System (including Green) from December 3 2021.
Are your staff vaccinated?
All of our staff are fully vaccinated in line with government requirements.
Do I have to wear a face covering?
Customer mask-wearing requirements will be in line with the Traffic Light System. If our region is at Orange or Red, you will need to wear a mask. Masks will be available on check-in if you forget yours.
Our pilots are exempt from wearing face masks during flight as it compromises the safety of flight.
What is your COVID-19 cancellation policy?
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required if you choose to cancel your booking. Any cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a 50% fee. If passengers ‘no-show’ for a flight, 100% of the fare will apply. If we have to cancel your flight due to bad weather, no fees are incurred. If you are unable to provide your vaccination status using your ‘My Vaccine Pass’ upon check-in, 100% of the fare will be charged.
